Making Modelling Chocolate

You can buy different brands of modelling chocolate from a good cake supplier, however we think it's so simple to make that once you have tried it you will never go back!

We believe you can save yourself a lot of money by making your own modelling chocolate!

To make moulding chocolate or chocolate plastique as it sometimes called, simply follow this recipe:

  • 300g of any milk, white or dark chocolate, although better quality is best!
  • 250g liquid glucose

Melt the chocolate over a saucepan (you all know how to do this don't you!), when it's all melted, add the glucose and mix together with a wooden spoon. Allow to cool. Knead your modelling chocolate well before you use it!

If you are using milk chocolate, you may need to REDUCE the amount of glucose, it all depends on the chocolate!

That's it!!
